I photograph the moment whenthe visible begins to tremble.
I do not photograph to prove. I photograph to shift.
My work starts from the real, but refuses proof as its destination. I do not photograph what things are. I try to photograph what they go on producing in us once we stop merely looking at them.
I work with light, matter and traces. My series were born in Benin, with the Egoun-goun and the Zangbéto, in the sacred forest of Ouidah and on the coast. They are brought together in my first book, Présences.
