The Ellipse Prize turns 5: Zangbéto IV in Paris until 31 October

Ellipse Art Projects is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its prize with a group exhibition at 62 rue Charlot in Paris. I am showing Zangbéto IV there. The exhibition runs until 31 October.

The opening took place on 14 October. In 2024, I was a finalist of the Benin edition of the Ellipse Prize with Mouvement Sacré des Âmes, and the finalists were shown at Maison Rouge in Cotonou. Two years later, I am with Ellipse again in Paris, with another series.

Zangbéto IV

On the white wall of the gallery, Zangbéto IV hangs in a black frame with a wide white margin. A vibrant mass emerges from the darkness, saturated with colours and textures, crossed by an incandescent breath. Space seems drawn into the movement, as if matter itself were praying in silence.

Two other works from the series, Zangbéto V and VI, are shown by Ellipse at the AKAA fair, 22 to 25 October. Read the article about AKAA.
